Arrival in Ireland
You will be collected from the airport by a DBL representative if you have requested this service and taken to your host family or other accommodation. Arriving at College for the first time will be an enjoyable experience when you meet our friendly and welcoming reception staff who will show you the college, arrange your classes, provide you with your 'welcome pack,' assist you in opening your bank account, obtain your students card and PPS number (see Employment below) and answer any questions that you might have.
Accommodation
Host family accommodation is carefully selected by us. All students who have booked host family accommodation can be confident that their host family will be welcoming, friendly, caring, informative and enjoyable and will encourage the student to talk, integrate and participate in normal family life during their stay. They provide a comfortable environment, advice and practical assistance when needed whilst at the same time giving the student privacy, security and someone they can talk to.
After a specific time students are normally familiar with their surroundings and prefer to move out and live on their own. The best places to look for accommodation would be newspapers and website. On a Thursday evening The Evening Herald lists all available accommodation. As a new person in Ireland, you may find shared accomadation the most practical and interesting option, not only is it an excellent oppurtunity to meet new people but it will also lower the cost of your monthly rent bill. Listed below are a few of the popular websites that you can check for accomodation.
