Business – Accounting (2-Year): (BBSXX)
Accountancy is one of the forefronts of modern business. Employers are fast recognising the importance of accountancy skills in their employees as it contributes to all aspects of their work.
Studying accountancy involves exploring how a business makes money, and how they can expand and develop their business through opportunities in the market.
This Business Accounting course is a 2-year FETAC level 5 programme in which the candidate will the learn essential knowledge and skills of accounting to progress their current career and prepare them for further training in Accountancy.
The course can be divided in 4 main areas:
- Studying specialised Accounting subjects and learning the relevant skills and knowledge (Manual & Computerised Bookkeeping and Accounting, Statistics)
- Exploring Business Markets and potential (Marketing Practice, Business Law)
- Enhancing workplace skills and effectiveness (Work-Placement, Personal Effectiveness in the Workplace)
- Extending your communications ability for the workplace, interviews, meetings etc. (Communications, English as a Second Language)
Business Knowledge and skills developed through this course:
- Accountancy Skills: Learning the importance of accountancy in the workplace, and what can be achieved through it, both manually and using technology.
- International Markets: Understanding International markets and the implications of competition on a business. Developing the skills and knowledge needed to plan and develop the business's future.
- Legal System: Being aware of the legal implications for your business, company law, legal obligations towards staff, customers etc.
- Work Place: Developing the skills and experience needed to work effectively in a professional accounting environment.
