DBL Full-Time English Courses
Course Information
At DBL our English Language programme includes classes suitable for all level of students. This programme is designed as a step-by-step process guiding you from basic to advanced levels of English. You will be rewarded with nationally and internationally recognised certificates as you complete the exams after each step.
6 Levels of English:
After successful completion of each of DBL's first 2 English levels (Basic -> Elementary), you will be rewarded with an appropriate TIE graded Certificate in English
- Basic: TIE Certificate: Basic-User range A0 - A1
- Elementary: TIE Certificate: Basic-User range A1 - A1+
(Grades based on the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Language Proficiency)
After successful completion of each of DBL's second 3 English levels (Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate & Upper-Intermediate), you will be rewarded with a FETAC Minor Award in English
- Pre-Intermediate: FETAC Level 3 Minor Award
- Intermediate: FETAC Level 4 Minor Award
- Upper-Intermediate: FETAC Level 5 Minor Award
After successful completion of each of DBL's final English level levels (Advanced), you will be prepared to take your IETLS examination.
- Advanced: IELTS Certificate

Who Are FETAC
FETAC is the National Awarding body for Further Education and Training in Ireland and is funded by the Irish Government under the National Development Plan.
What Is TIE
TIE is the Test of Interactive English and has been developed by the Advisory Council for English Language Schools (ACELS) to meet the needs of students taking English language courses in Ireland. TIE is recognised by the Irish Department of Education and Science.
What Is IELTS
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. The IELTS exam has become one of the fastest growing tests of English Language in the world and is taken by students everywhere who wish to complete a university course in an English speaking country.
