Successful businesses realise the importance of getting the basics of marketing right. Marketing is about recognising, anticipating, and satisfying customer needs effectively and profitably. The shift of focus in business to the customer has led employers to seek crucial marketing skills in potential employees. Marketing professionals are therefore a hot-commodity in today's job market.
This Marketing course is a 2-year FETAC level 5 programme in which the candidate will learn crucial skills and knowledge of marketing to enhance their current career opportunities and prepare them for further education in Marketing Practice.
This course can be divided into 4 main areas:
- Extending your knowledge and understanding in the professional marketing and related fields (Marketing Practice, Statistics)
- Enhancing your workplace skills and effectiveness (Work Placement, Personal Effectiveness in the Workplace, English as a Second Language)
- Developing your general IT knowledge and skills, to help you get more from technology in the workplace (Desktop Publishing, eBusiness Studies)
- Improving your management skills and abilities to work effectively in a team-environment (Behavioural Studies, Communications)
Business Knowledge and skills developed through this course:
- Marketing Skills: Learning the importance of marketing, and specialist marketing strategy skills applicable to all types of business
- Management Skills: Working successfully with people from different cultures and backgrounds, communicating in an effective way, understanding managing staff behaviour, getting the best out of your staff, maintaining a respectful and cooperative environment.
- Office Skills: Effective use of the PC, organisational and timing skills, practical and effective communications
- Technology Skills: Learning the importance of technology and the Internet in Business, and how it can be used to develop and enhance business marketing processes.
- Human Resource Skills: Develop your own personal and practical skills needed for operating in a professional marketing environment.
